Things To Know
Please arrive at Groobarbs Field Kitchen (WA16 0AA) from 12:45, last arrivals at 13:15. We'd recommend taxiing to the venue as car park space is limited, however if you choose to drive please park at the far end of the car park.
The ceremony will be hosted indoors by Paul, our celebrant, followed by a drinks reception with casual games and nibbles outside on the field. If the weather turns there's plenty of cover under the marquee, so don't worry about getting wet. After a short but fun fuelled sports day (see below), join us for some delicious food & drink, followed by an evening of music & dancing.
The evening will finish around 23:30, we'd recommend prebooking a taxi as phone signal can be patchy at the venue, but don't worry, there will be wifi!
It wouldn't be an Alice and Mike wedding without some competition...
Unleash your competitive spirit and join us for some sports day inspired fun. Whether you want to spectate and cheer along your fellow competitors or join in yourself, hopefully this will be a sports day to remember!
If you want to join in, please message Alice or Mike before the 6th June with any events you'd like to partake in. Flip flops can be provided for those in heels (or otherwise!), but feel free to bring your own comfy shoes too! While the compeititive spirit will be there, these are all family friendly games suitable for any ages & abilities!
What should I wear?
The wedding is semi-formal (think cocktail dresses or suit & tie), but comfort comes first, so please feel free to wear whatever makes you feel best.
Will the ceremony be indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will be indoors, with plenty of outdoor activities afterwards. We have plenty of outdoor cover to shelter you from any rain, or give some much needed shade if sunny

If you’re coming on the M56, take Junction 9 or from the M6 it’s Junction 20; then follow the A50 1.5 miles south towards Knutsford. Mag Lane is on the left, and the farm is the first farm on the left along Mag Lane.

Where can I stay nearby
The Park Royal Hotel Stretton is a 10 minute drive from the venue and has been tried & tested with family members before. There are also plenty of AirBnB's or smaller hotels nearby too

What time does it end?
Last drinks will be at 11:30, so expect to be tucked up in bed shortly after midnight. Of course we won't take offense if anyone chooses to leave earlier.
It all started with a crazy golf date, but the craziness didn't stop there. Our second date was an adrenaline fueled food shop at Asda!

After what was expected to be a two week sleepover, we found ourselves living together a lot sooner than we would have expected. After testing our relationship so early on the results were in; we were definitely best friends... We never went back to our individual lives.

After a couple years living together we decided we wanted to find a place we could truly call our own. The search began, and a stressful year later we settled down in Grappenhall in our new home.

And they called it puppy love... After much pestering Alice finally achieved her dreams of having a dog. Toby came home to us at 12 weeks old and changed our lives forever, although he definitely keeps us on our toes!

Unbeknown to Alice, a long, wet & muddy hike in the lakes would be a milestone moment for both of us; when we went from boyfriend & girlfriend, to future husband & wife.

Groobarbs is a place close to our hearts. We've visited many times and had some amazing food. The field kitchen is farm to fork; all the produce is grown in the fields surrounding the barns, and everything else is sourced locally. The food is all seasonal so exact menu won't be finalised until nearer the time, but you can choose between a meat or veg main course when you RSVP.
We can't wait to share this special place with you all. There is ample outdoor space for plenty of games, so bring along your competitive spirit! There'll be live entertainment in the barn in the evening, so let's dance the night away!
